After Ghana gained its independence in 1957 the education system, then geared on the British
system and has undergone a series of reforms. Ghana is endowed with a good education
system a statement made by BBC News monitoring Department. Whiles people say
Education is light, we at HCDP GHANA say Education is “Akadi”
The present structure of education, which starts at the age of 6 years, consists of 6 years of
primary education, 3 years of Junior Secondary School, 3 years of Senior Secondary School
and 4 years University or courses at other tertiary institutions. The first 9 years form the basic
education and are free and compulsory.
HCDP GHANA has entails various education programs already in progress as progress is made towards universal primary school enrollment, and millions of children around the world complete primary schooling and hope to move on to a secondary school, an important question for policy-makers is emerging: how quickly to expand access to secondary education? Some have argued that secondary education is likely to have a much larger impact than primary education on long-run earnings, health, fertility, gender equality, and civic and political participation. But expanding secondary education is a significantly more expensive undertaking than providing free primary education In collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, volunteers can have the opportunity of teaching any subject of a choice regarding:

2. History (Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Junior High schools only)
